On the 1st April 2017 we set our 5 piece party band off (2 vocals, guitar, bass, and drums) to The Old Hall Ely, in Cambridgeshire. And firstly, may I say, don't hold the words 'old hall' against this venue. There was no musty old town hall in sight, instead the band rolled up to this gorgeous picturesque venue below.

The band members arrived at 5pm, giving them 90 minutes for set up and sound check. The band began setting up in the marquee, which is permanently attached to the venue. In the marquee there was already a black star lit effect on the walls and ceiling, and it led straight to the dining area. They worked quickly and also quietly since the wedding guests were just on the other side of the door. While waiting for the green light from Alex Moresby, wedding planner, stylist extraordinaire, to fit sound check around speeches as requested by Jen. After the band were sound checked they managed to grab a meal from the BBQ to fuel up and also got a snap from our official Supreme Collective photographer, Natalja Safronova, that we brought along in advance of the doors opening and the party beginning.

We started the evening off as planned, with a crossfading Spotify playlist while the evening guests arrived, our photographer caught some snaps of the guests mingling in the dining area before they made their way to the dance floor.

The band then kicked off the first live set at 8pm with the Foo Fighters 'Big Me' as the first dance, done in a more romantic and softer version than the original. Claire sang lead on the first dance with her beautiful sweet vocals, and Najwa complemented the performance with some gorgeous backing vocals.

First Dance Jen & Tom Party Band

The party band did an hour live set including hits like Respect, Brown Eyed Girl, Son Of A Preacher Man, Kiss Me, Cosmic Girl, Place Your Hands Up, and Crazy - all picked by the bride and groom, might I add. Then the DJ took over for 30 minutes and kept the dance floor filled playing lots of modern hits and taking requests.

Guests on the dance floor

We had some serious shapes being cut on the dance floor, some really serious shapes.

The party band finished off with another hour set including hits like ABC, Kiss, Shackles, Mustang Sally, This Love, Finally, Mr Brightside, You've Got The Love, and ending with How Long Will I Love You. It was Jen's special request to have the band finish with How Long Will I Love You, and it worked really well, seeing all the couples and non-couples hit the dance floor for a slow dance.

After that the DJ took over for the finále and kept the dance floor packed until the very sensible event manager had to pull the plug. Yikes! That's one thing that we find hard, when the crowd wants more, we just can't help it!!

Jen, Tom, I hope you both had a wonderful day and evening and we've managed to create an absolutely unforgettable experience for you both and your guests.

Love, Rhona & The Supreme Collective x
