BIOGRAPHY

Soul Eras, an electrifying ensemble embodying the essence of soul music through the ages. Led by vocalists Mariam and Gershom, the band boasts a lineup of Richard on keys, Alistair on guitar, Ato on bass, Rowan on drums, Sophie on sax, and Josh on trumpet. With a versatile eight-piece configuration including two lead vocalists, their repertoire spans the decades, from the energetic rhythms of 60s classics like "Higher and Higher" to the funky grooves of 70s hits such as "Signed, Sealed, Delivered." Transitioning seamlessly into neo-soul, they deliver soul-stirring renditions of contemporary favorites like "Cosmic Girl" and "I Need A Dollar." For intimate moments, acoustic sets featuring guitarist Alistair and vocalist Gershom or Mariam offer soulful renditions of timeless classics, adding a touch of warmth and romance to any occasion. Soul Eras isn't just a band—it's a journey through the heart and soul of music, creating unforgettable experiences for audiences of all ages.

Soul Eras, under the dynamic leadership of Mariam and Gershom, is dedicated to delivering exceptional musical experiences that celebrate the essence of Motown and soul music. The band's performances are characterized by their authenticity, energy, and powerful stage presence, ensuring that every show is memorable and engaging for their audiences. Gershom's rich vocal talent and Mariam's seasoned expertise create a powerful synergy, bringing the timeless appeal of these genres to life. This deep connection to the music, combined with the band's collective expertise, makes Soul Eras a distinguished and standout act in the contemporary music scene.

  • Mariam has a master's degree in Commercial Songwriting and Production from Nottingham Trent University. Her academic background, combined with her innate talent, has allowed her to excel in creating her own music, videos, and shows. Her extensive performance experience includes performing with major artists around the world. She has graced stages such as the Royal Albert Hall, Hollywood Bowl in LA, O2 Arenas, Jazz Café, Invictus Games, and the Brit Awards. Collaborating with and performing alongside renowned artists such as Gladys Knight, The 1975, Tyla, Little Simz (Sault), Paloma Faith, Corinne Bailey Rae, Miça Parish, and Beverley Knight has enriched her artistry and broadened her musical horizons, making her a compelling and seasoned performer.

Gershom's musical journey began at an early age in church, where he discovered his passion for singing. His career is marked by performances at some of the most prestigious venues, including The Hollywood Bowl, Grand Ole Opry, Royal Albert Hall, Queen Elizabeth Hall, Buckingham Palace, The Royal Palace of Monaco, and the Lehman Theatre in NYC. Gershom has had the honor of sharing the stage with legendary artists such as Chaka Khan, Whitney Houston, George Michael, Joss Stone, Stormzy, and Luther Vandross. These collaborations have not only enriched his musical repertoire but also solidified his reputation as a versatile and accomplished performer. His notable involvement as a member of The Kingdom Choir, which performed at the Royal Wedding of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, further highlights his esteemed position in the music industry.

For short notice bookings, you are still very welcome to send over your suggestions, and as always, the band will do their utmost to accommodate as many requests as possible. Soul Eras is also very happy to learn an ‘off the menu’ song request for you, such as a first dance or your favorite song.
