BIOGRAPHY
The Horizons is a group of extremely talented musicians bringing the best pop, funk, and soul party music to stages and dance floors globally. The band is fronted by two fantastic vocalists, who have experience running through their dancing tippy toes to the top of their gorgeous and handsome heads. Our leading lady has worked in performance production for many years has vocal tones are reminiscent of pop-soul icons like Whitney Houston, while our male vocalist who has reached final stages of both The Voice and X Factor has a distinctively smooth tone and beautiful falsetto allowing him to hit all the highs of The Jackson 5, Prince, and execute the soul-pop tones of all the classics. These vocalists with their expertise and incredibly professional and friendly personalities will win you and all of your guests around from the first song. The Horizons full lineup is a 6-piece, with one male and one female lead vocal, guitar, bass, keys, and drums. You can count on The Horizons to keep “the party in full flow from beginning to end” as certified by their past clients!
Our leading lady, Ruby, who studied Music and Dance at Northampton Institute, has toured the Mediterranean on cruise liners and been an integral part of show teams across the UK and abroad working with Frankie Goes To Hollywood and dance group Uniting Nations, and her counterpart, Sean, has over 5 million views on YouTube and has been mentored by Celine Dion.
-
Ruby and Sean are supported by Jack on drums, Daryl on bass, James on keys, and Josef on guitar. Collectively the band has studied at some of the most prestigious musical educational facilities in the UK and around the world, including the Institute of Contemporary Music Performance, The Academy of Contemporary Music, University of Northampton and The Players School of Music in Florida; have supported the likes of Lemar, Blazin Squad, Diversity, and Shane Ward; have performed at Wembley Arena, O2; toured the UK and the Mediterranean; and have played at the renowned 100 Club and Ronnie Scott’s; and played on BBC radio and Resonance FM radio station. I think you’ll agree that they've more than earned their stripes.
The Horizons play the band's pop, funk, rock, and soul repertoire to perfection, from artists such as Clean Bandit, Rose Royce, and Prince. The band has a repertoire of over 300 songs covering the 1950s to the current top 40, and specializes in pop, funk, disco, and soul, though their repertoire also covers Motown, jazz, rock, and swing.
The Horizons welcomes you to tailor the setlist for your big day. For a standard 2x60 mins or 3x40mins performance you can select up to 32 songs from the band’s 300+ song repertoire, and the band will endeavour to accommodate all of your requests, given a month’s notice. For short notice bookings, you are still very welcome to send over your suggestions, and as always, the band will do their utmost to accommodate as many requests as possible. The Horizons is also very happy to learn an ‘off the menu’ song request for you, for example, a first dance or your favourite song.
Upon booking, you will have a dedicated band manager as your point of contact to ensure the band is 100% on the same page as you well in advance of your event. Having this point of contact means you can count on excellent, fast, friendly, and warm communication at all times. It also means that come the big day every single crease will be ironed out and it will mean smooth sailing for both client and band alike.
All in all, The Horizons band members are a very friendly and flexible bunch and take great pride in providing excellent musicianship and creating a really fun atmosphere wherever they go. The band has a big long list of songs spanning different genres and decades for you to pick from and can play complimentary playlist music (which you are welcome to tailor) before, in-between and after live sets until curfew. The band can be on-site for up to 7 hours, or until midnight as standard. They are happy to accommodate early arrivals before 5pm and late stays after midnight if needed too. The band is also able to provide a band member DJ-ing should you wish to have a live DJ before, between, or after band sets. The band brings a full PA and lighting rig with them wherever they go, so all you need to do is book the band and you can tick the entertainment off your to-do list in one fell swoop because The Horizons will have you covered.
If you've any questions about the band and what they offer please don't hesitate, we’ll be more than happy to help.
