THE RIOT DOGS
BIOGRAPHY
The Riot Dogs is a fresh 3 or 4-piece band with powerful vocals with a lot of range, and talented musicians to boot! Their specialism is in rock and pop, though you will also find a fair few soul, reggae, and punk favourites in their repertoire. Their standard lineup is a trio with lead vocals with electric guitar, bass with backing vocals, and drums with backing vocals. They can add a 4th band member, such as a lead guitarist, or saxophonist if you would like. Whether you go for the 4-piece or stick with the trio, the band will be sure to surpass your expectations - with previous clients reviewing the band as “superb musicians” and being highly recommended time and time again.
The Riot Dogs have been working together as a unit for a considerable amount of time, and therefore they are very in sync with one another. This synchronicity allows them to keep their eyes and ears on their clients and audience to ensure you all are having the best time ever. They come to every event fully prepared and briefed, follow schedules, check in with coordinators to ensure a smooth operation, and are happy to take on board requests and schedule adjustments throughout the day and night too.
The band is led by Sam, who likes to think of himself as Jack Black from School of Rock. Monday to Friday Sam teaches kids in school how to be in a band, and on the weekends he joins his band and brings party music up and down the country to weddings, corporate events, and festivals. Sam has a distinct and versatile voice that lends itself perfectly to pop and rock. Sam’s voice also marries up beautifully with soul, reggae, and punk too.

Sam is backed by Ewan on bass and backing vocals, and Rob on drums and also backing vocals. The band has a 4th member, Paolo, on lead guitarist and backing vocals, in case you want more musicians on your stage and a bigger sound. All three backing musicians have trained collectively at the prestigious British Institute for Modern Music and Plymouth University. Some of the band’s achievements include opening for Happy Monday; touring North America and Brazil; recording and performing with Emeli Sande; supporting Fish (of Marillion); performing with and musical directing SEL (of Soul II Soul); performing on BBC TV with Sasy Mankan; recording with Lost Girl, and Mudbone (of Parliament-Funkadelic); performing at New Quay Beach Break Festival, Notting Hill Carnival, Soulstice Festival, Islington O2, the Jazz Café, 100 Club, Ronnie Scott’s, Troy Bar; and completing a contract on a luxury P&O Cruise. One thing is for sure, they’ve fairly racked up the experience so you can be sure any challenges would be easily navigated by these seasoned pros.
The Riot Dogs has got an extensive repertoire of over 100 songs covering the best pop and rock hits with a touch of soul, reggae, funk, disco, punk, and jazz to nicely round off their repertoire. And Ewan doubles as the band DJ, so if you’d like to book him to bring his booth and his decks he can make sure your dance floor stays busy in between and after live sets.
The Riot Dogs welcomes you to tailor the setlist for your big day. For a standard 2x60 mins or 3x40mins performance you can select up to 32 songs from the band’s 100 song repertoire, and the band will endeavour to accommodate all of your requests, given a month’s notice. For short notice bookings, you are still very welcome to send over your suggestions, and as always, the band will do their utmost to accommodate as many requests as possible. The Riot Dogs is also very happy to learn an ‘off the menu’ song request for you, for example, a first dance or your favourite song.
Upon booking, you will have a dedicated band manager as your point of contact to ensure the band is 100% on the same page as you well in advance of your event. Having this point of contact means you can count on excellent, fast, friendly, and warm communication at all times. It also means that come the big day every single crease will be ironed out and it will mean smooth sailing for both client and band alike.
All in all, The Riot Dogs band members are a very friendly and flexible bunch and take great pride in providing excellent musicianship and creating a really fun atmosphere wherever they go. The band has a big long list of songs spanning different genres and decades for you to pick from and can play complimentary playlist music (which you are welcome to tailor) before, in-between, and after live sets until curfew. The band can be on-site for up to 7 hours, or until midnight as standard. They are happy to accommodate early arrivals before 5pm and late stays after midnight if needed too. The band is also able to provide a band member DJ-ing should you wish to have a live DJ before, between, or after band sets. The band brings a full PA and lighting rig with them wherever they go, so all you need to do is book the band and you can tick the entertainment off your to-do list in one fell swoop because The Riot Dogs will have you covered.
If you've any questions about the band and what they offer please don't hesitate, we’ll be more than happy to help.
