BIOGRAPHY

TThe ultimate indie pop & rock band, The MonStars, have the energy, experience and skills to keep the party going all through the night. Their full line-up is a 4-piece band with lead vocals and guitar, bass with backing vocals, drums with backing vocals, and a lead guitarist. They can do a more compact lineup with 3 band members with backing tracks to give that full twinkly radio-esq sound. The band has been bringing the best of Britpop, rock, indie and pop hits to events up and down the country since 2019, and have been described as ‘epic’ and ‘absolutely fantastic’ from past clients, so you rest assured you’ll get a stellar performance from The MonStars

The band members are so friendly, and warm. They love to have fun and bring people together. They are more than happy to make announcements on the mic for you during your event to ensure everyone does what you need them to do at just the right time, whether that’s to gather for the first dance, or to grab some food at the buffet, or to go outside for fireworks, or to run outside for skinnydipping in the lake (yes, they’ve even MC’ed for that before!), the band have you covered!

The MonStars is fronted by the unstoppable force of energy and sheer vocal prowess delivered by Edwin! With a decade of experience under his belt, Edwin brings an unmatched level of high-octane excitement to every stage he graces. Showing a keen versatility in playing lots of styles in his years of experience in function bands. His high-energy, move-busting, and high-note belting abilities set him apart as a true entertainer. Producers of Britain's Got Talent were wowed by his performance and exclaimed  "you've got some serious range mate!". Edwin has also toured with Canadian 80's metal legends: ANVIL.

  • Their sound is further solidified by Chris on bass and backing vocals, his extensive experience in the function and corporate industry ensures a smooth and professional experience from start to finish. The electrifying Jake on lead guitar, a graduate of The Academy Of Contemporary Music, Jake brings not only technical skill but also a wealth of experience from touring with original acts, theatre shows, and studio sessions. All supported by the powerhouse drumming of Dan, a professional drummer and percussionist, Dan keeps the beat steady and the energy high. Having toured and even recorded at the legendary Abbey Road Studios, Dan brings a wealth of experience and professionalism to every gig.

With a repertoire of over 100 songs, The MonStars are the perfect 3 or 4-piece indie pop & rock band for your event and can guarantee to get the young and the young at heart on the dance floor. Whether it's a wedding, birthday party or another special occasion, The MonStars will have you and your guests dancing all night long. Their repertoire spans multiple decades and genres, with their specialism definitely in the rock-pop pocket. Genres in their repertoire include Britpop, rock, indie, pop-rock, pop, funk & soul, and Christmas songs.

The MonStars welcome you to tailor the setlist for your big day. For a standard 2x60 mins or 3x40mins performance you can select up to 32 songs from the band’s 100 song repertoire, and the band will endeavour to accommodate all of your requests, given a month’s notice. For short notice bookings, you are still very welcome to send over your suggestions, and as always, the band will do their utmost to accommodate as many requests as possible. The MonStars is also very happy to learn an ‘off the menu’ song request for you, for example, a first dance or your favourite song.

Upon booking, you will have a dedicated band manager as your point of contact to ensure the band is 100% on the same page as you well in advance of your event. Having this point of contact means you can count on excellent, fast, friendly, and warm communication at all times. It also means that come the big day every single crease will be ironed out and it will mean smooth sailing for both client and band alike.

All in all, The MonStars are a very friendly and flexible bunch and take great pride in providing excellent musicianship and creating a really fun atmosphere wherever they go. The band has a big long list of songs spanning different genres and decades for you to pick from and can play complimentary playlist music (which you are welcome to tailor) before, in-between and after live sets until curfew. The band can be on-site for up to 7 hours, or until midnight as standard. They are happy to accommodate early arrivals and late stays after midnight if needed too. The band is also able to provide a band member DJ-ing should you wish to have a live DJ before, between, or after band sets. The band brings a full PA and lighting rig with them wherever they go, so all you need to do is book the band and you can tick the entertainment off your to-do list in one fell swoop because The MonStars will have you covered.
