Kent Wedding & Event Country Estate
I came across this fabulous venue in Canterbury, Kent, through our clients, Katie and Max. Our indie rock band are due to perform for them at the end of June here. The venue itself is really well priced, ranging from £2400 to £5400 depending on time of year and day of the week. Sunday to Monday and October to April being the more afforable days and time of year.
The great thing about The Night Yard is it’s a blank canvas. Originally part of the Highland Court Farm family estate, it’s set in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, precicely what you want for those super country chic wedding snaps.
The venue can accommodate up to 150 guests in their marquee. If you’ve got more guests than that coming for dinner then they can pop up another marquee for you and accommodate up to 300 people for your wedding dinner in total.
Charlotte who runs The Night Yard has a cunning plan for wet weather – all of the sides of their marquee are see through / clear, meaning you can still see the great outdoors whilst keeping toasty inside with the thermostatically controlled heated marquee. Genius!
Tables can be set up in cabaret style (round) or they can be long trestle tables, and naturally limewash Chiavari chairs comes with the package, allowing for both comfort and style. These chairs are perfect for adding decoration too if you wanted to add a linen or ribbon aspect to the furnishings too.
The marquee also comes with boarded floor, carpet, and a parquet dance floor. It’s almost as if they knew you were going to hire a wedding party band for the evening. Festoon lighting is on dimmer control to create ambiance and atmosphere, especially for your first dance and for when the wedding band kicks in. They provide a PA system for speeches, and we’ll provide the PA system for your party band.
They have a bar. Need I say more? No make-shift bar, this is a fully stocked gorgeous outdoor bar with creative vintage lighting. Swooning!!
The Night Yard can even can get you a discount on natural petal confetti. What a bonus!
They do have a noise restriction of 92 decibels, but we find that when you play outdoors and make adjustments to equipment (for example if the drummer used hot rods and brought his cajon as a back up option) the party band can stay well within these sound limits. Live music officially finishes here at 11pm, but don't worry we'll be able to keep the beats going through a tailored playlist of music for you and your guests.
The great thing about this wide open space in the coutry is that there's plenty of room for a tipi or two, and a camper van. Festival brides, eat your heart out. xx
